Restocker

The Restocker keeps your stock honest across marketplaces. Two scenarios it handles:

  1. Multi-quantity Vinted seller. You have 3 of a t-shirt. Set it to 2 restocks: as each of the first two sells, the Restocker reposts a fresh Vinted listing for the next unit, so the item stays listed without you doing anything. The third sale closes it out.
  2. Linked items. The same item is listed on both Depop and Vinted and linked. Both sides share one stock count. When the last unit sells on either side, the Restocker takes the other side down so you don’t sell the same item twice.

Only Vinted listings are reposted. Vinted has no quantity field, so a fresh listing is how an item stays up there. On Depop, SaleLinx writes your stock into Depop’s own quantity field instead, and Depop keeps the listing live until it runs out.

The Restocker works with Depop and Vinted listings; eBay support is coming.

Where it lives

The Restocker tab in the panel is where you choose what to track:

  • Open Restocker opens the Restocker itself (see Running the Restocker below). While it runs, a Stop Restocker button appears here too.
  • Export Stock and Import Stock move your restock numbers in and out as a CSV file.
  • Add Items lists your cloud-saved listings that aren’t tracked yet.
  • Tracked Items lists everything being tracked, with a Restocks number on each row. You can search it and filter by marketplace or by linked and unlinked items.
  • Drafts (locked) appears when any of your cloud-saved listings are drafts (see below).

Adding an item

An item has to be saved to the cloud before it can be tracked, because reposts are rebuilt from the cloud copy. Then either:

  • From My Listings - switch Restock on in an active listing’s row and set the number of restocks in the Qty column. The two are separate: typing a number doesn’t start tracking until the Restock switch is on.
  • From the Restocker tab - under Add Items, click Add next to a listing, or tick several and click Add selected. Items added this way start at 1 restock unless they already had a number saved. Change it in Tracked Items.

The number is how many times you want SaleLinx to put the item back up after it sells. That is one fewer than the number of units you have, and it is worth getting the right way round:

  • 0 restocks is the default in My Listings, and it is the ordinary one-of-a-kind case. The item stays tracked, Depop advertises it as 1, and the first sale closes it out and takes the linked partner down. It is never reposted.
  • 2 restocks means 3 units: two reposts, then the item closes out.

Drafts

Drafts can’t be tracked. They sit in the Drafts (locked) section until you publish them. If a draft already had a restock number saved, it comes back automatically once the listing is live.

Export and import stock

Export Stock downloads your tracked items as a CSV with each listing’s ID, marketplace, title, number of restocks and whether tracking is on. Change the numbers in a spreadsheet, then use Import Stock to apply them all at once. Each row in the file switches tracking on with its number, unless the file has an enabled column, in which case only rows marked true are switched on. Import also accepts the CSV that Export All in My Listings produces.

Running the Restocker

  1. In the Restocker tab, click Open Restocker. SaleLinx opens your Vinted sold orders page in a new tab and shows the Restocker there, with its status, settings and activity feed.
  2. Click Start Restocker. You need a Vinted tab open, plus a Depop tab if any tracked item is on Depop or linked, both signed into the accounts linked to SaleLinx. If something is missing, the Restocker tells you what to open instead of starting.
  3. It first catches up: it picks up Depop sales made while it was stopped, checks every tracked Vinted listing, and sends your stock numbers to Depop. Then it switches to Live monitoring, checking for new sales every 60 to 105 seconds by default.
  4. Click Stop Restocker to stop it, either on that page or in the panel’s Restocker tab.

Keep the Restocker tab open while it works. Closing it stops the Restocker, and so does Chrome or SaleLinx restarting (after an update, for example). Sales that happen while it is stopped are picked up the next time you press Start Restocker.

While a repost runs, the page shows each step as it happens (waiting, fetching data, photos, creating the draft, publishing). The Activity feed lists sales, restocks, stock updates and listings taken down.

How it works (Vinted reposts)

  1. A tracked Vinted listing sells.
  2. On its next check, the Restocker confirms the sale with Vinted directly rather than trusting a cached status, then checks once more just before reposting.
  3. It reposts a fresh copy built from the cloud copy (title, description, photos, price and item details), with the changes from your settings (below) applied.
  4. The restock count drops by 1. The link and tracking move over to the new listing.
  5. A sale with no restocks left closes the item out instead of reposting it, so you never end up with a live listing and no stock behind it. Tracking then switches off for that item.

How it works (linked pairs)

When a Depop and a Vinted listing are linked, they share one stock count, and Depop shows it as the listing’s quantity. The Restocker only acts on linked pairs while it is running.

  • A unit sells on Vinted - the Vinted listing is reposted if there are restocks left, and the Depop quantity goes down to match.
  • A unit sells on Depop - Depop lowers its own quantity and keeps the listing up, and the Vinted listing stays live. SaleLinx brings the shared count down the next time it checks your Depop stock.
  • The last unit sells - the other side comes down. Depop only marks a listing as sold once its quantity reaches zero, so a Depop listing showing as sold is treated as a full sell-out.

The partner listing only comes down when the stock reaches 0. On Depop, that means setting its quantity to 0 so it shows as sold out. On Vinted, it follows the When a linked item sells out setting: the listing is hidden (the default, and reversible) or deleted.

Settings

The Restocker page has a Settings section. Changes save as you make them and apply to this browser only.

  • Photo modifications (on by default) - makes small random changes to each photo so every repost goes live as a fresh listing. You can set the range for Rotation (°), Scale (%) and Brightness (%).
  • Text modifications - Toggle random letter case in title and Toggle random letter case in description are both on by default. Each swaps the case of one random letter on every repost.
  • Price modification - None by default. Choose Reduce % or Reduce fixed to knock a little off the price of each repost.
  • Timing - Delay before reposting (0 minutes by default), Min delay between reposts and Max delay between reposts (40 to 80 seconds by default), and Time between checks (1 minute by default, from 30 seconds up to 30 minutes).
  • When a linked item sells out - Hide the Vinted listing (default) or Delete the Vinted listing. Hiding can be undone, deleting is permanent.
  • Advanced - Publish as drafts (off by default) saves each repost as a Vinted draft for you to publish yourself.

If you’d rather each new listing looked completely different, use Relist instead.

What it won’t do

  • Won’t restock without a confirmed sale. SaleLinx waits for a clear sold signal before acting, so a passing marketplace glitch doesn’t trigger a phantom repost.
  • Won’t repost something you already put back up. If the listing turns out to be live again when it is about to repost, the repost is cancelled.
  • Won’t repost on Depop. Depop listings stay up through their quantity until they sell out.
  • Won’t act while stopped. Nothing happens until you press Start Restocker, and it then catches up on what it missed.

Plan and access

Restocker is Business only. Pro doesn’t include it, and on other plans the Restocker tab and the Restock column in My Listings are locked.

Restocker also needs Cloud sync (for the reposted content) and, for cross-platform pairs, Linking. Both are included with Business.

Next steps

  • Linking - pair the items the Restocker acts on. Crosslisted copies aren’t linked automatically.
  • Cloud sync - the source of the reposted content.
  • Relist - the heavier alternative when you want each repost to look genuinely new.
