Crosslist

The Crosslist tab copies listings you’ve already made on one marketplace to another: Depop, Vinted or eBay, in any direction. You pick the items, check them in a review step, and SaleLinx creates each copy in the background. There’s no sell form to fill in twice and no tab to babysit.

From version 1.1.12, every copy to Depop or Vinted is saved as a draft for you to check and publish. eBay has no drafts, so copies to eBay go live (see Crosslisting to and from eBay below). In version 1.1.11 an Auto-post switch on the tab could publish copies straight away instead.

When to use it

  • You list something new on Depop and want it on Vinted too, or the other way round.
  • You sell on Depop or Vinted and want the same items on eBay, or the other way round.
  • You’re tidying an old shop and want everything that isn’t on the other marketplace yet copied across.
  • You’re new to SaleLinx and want to mirror your existing catalogue in one go.

What you need

  • Two marketplaces linked to SaleLinx, any two of Depop, Vinted and eBay, and switched on in Settings → Marketplaces (see Connect your first marketplace).
  • A tab open for each of Depop and Vinted you’ve linked, signed in to those same accounts. SaleLinx works through those sites. eBay never needs a tab. If a tab is missing, the Crosslist tab says so and offers a button to open it.
  • A plan with crosslists. Every plan from the 14-day free trial up includes a monthly crosslist allowance.

How Crosslist works

The How Crosslist works card at the top of the tab sums it up in three steps: Tick items, Press Crosslist, Drafts appear on the other site. Close it with the × once you know the drill and it stays hidden.

Picking listings

The tab shows a grid of your own listings on the source marketplace, newest first. Each card has the photo (with the marketplace logo and price on it), the title, a Draft tag for drafts, size and category tags, the brand, the condition, and likes and views.

Above the grid:

  • From and To - pick the marketplace you’re copying from and the one you’re copying to. One marketplace can’t be on both sides, and the swap button between them flips the direction. eBay appears in both once it’s linked.
  • Link filter - All, Linked or Unlinked. It starts on Unlinked, which hides listings that are already linked to a partner on the other marketplace.
  • Status filter - All, Active or Drafts. It starts on All: drafts can be crosslisted as well as live listings.
  • Search, Refresh listings (re-reads your listings from the marketplace), a select-all checkbox for the current page, and the page size (10 to 200 cards).

Tick the cards you want, or press on one and drag across the others. Your selection is kept when you change page. The button then reads Crosslist N to with the target logo. Once you scroll past the toolbar, a copy of that button floats in the bottom-right corner so you don’t have to scroll back up.

A card that is already queued for another job (an edit, delete or duplicate from My Listings, a relist, or another crosslist) is greyed out with a Queued badge. It can’t be selected and drops out of select-all, so two jobs can’t collide on the same listing.

Add from URL

To crosslist something that isn’t in the grid, add it by its link:

  1. Click Add from URL.
  2. Paste one or more listing links, one per line. If you opened the panel on a Vinted listing, you can leave the box empty to use that listing.
  3. Click Fetch. Each listing appears in a list where you can Edit or Remove it. Any link that couldn’t be fetched stays in the box.
  4. Click Add to List. The listings go to the front of the grid, already ticked.

Only crosslist your own listings. The links decide the From marketplace, and the copies go to the one in To. A batch copies from one marketplace only, so links from any other are left out and the panel says how many.

Review before crosslisting

Clicking Crosslist N to opens Review before crosslisting, with one row per item.

  • Edit opens the item’s details: title, description, category, brand, price, condition, colour (up to two) and size. Category, brand and size come from the target marketplace’s own lists, so you can fix a mapping before anything is sent. Click Save to keep your changes. Prices are in the source listing’s currency.
  • Remove takes the item out of this batch.
  • A warning appears under an item when something looks off, such as a title that names a different category from the one picked, or a kids’ size that had to be estimated.

When everything looks right, click Crosslist to with the target logo. The items join the crosslist queue.

You can also crosslist straight from My Listings: select active listings from one marketplace and click Crosslist in the selection toolbar. That route skips the review step and copies between Depop and Vinted only. See Bulk editor.

How the crosslist runs

For each item, SaleLinx reads the source listing, translates its category, condition, colour, brand, size and shipping into what the other marketplace expects, copies the photos across, and creates the copy on the target. It all happens in the background; nothing is typed into the marketplace’s own sell form. Depop has no separate title field, so on a copy to Depop the title becomes the first line of the description.

Common edge cases are handled for you:

  • Brand the target doesn’t recognise - a Depop copy gets Depop’s Other brand, and a Vinted copy is left with no brand. Pick the right one on the draft before publishing.
  • Colour the target doesn’t offer - mapped to the nearest colour it accepts (mustard becomes yellow on Depop, for example).
  • Size missing from the target’s sizes - left blank for you to set.
  • Different currencies - if your two shops use different currencies, the price is converted at the day’s exchange rate. If no rate can be fetched, the copy keeps the same number in the new currency (a £20 item is listed at €20), so check the price on the draft.
  • A photo that can’t be copied - it’s skipped and the rest go through. If no photos can be copied, that item fails.

If a crosslist looks off, the reason is usually on this list.

Batches

There’s no limit on how many items you select. Your monthly allowance is the only cap: if you select more than you have left, only that many are queued and the panel tells you how many made it.

A batch:

  • Runs one item at a time, with pauses in between so the marketplaces don’t see a burst of activity.
  • Shows its progress in the panel’s job queue, and keeps running if you close the panel.
  • Pauses if the browser restarts part-way through. Press Resume in the job queue to carry on from where it stopped.
  • Skips an item that fails and moves on to the next. Select it again later to retry.
  • Re-reads the target marketplace as it goes, so the new copies show up in My Listings.

From version 1.1.12, each copy is counted against your allowance as it is created and failed items don’t count. If the allowance runs out part-way, the batch stops. In version 1.1.11 the batch is counted when it finishes, failed items included.

Copies are saved as drafts

Every copy to Depop or Vinted lands as a draft, never as a live listing. Copies to eBay are the exception: they go live, after the review step has shown you eBay’s fees. Any mapping mistake (wrong category, missing brand, a size left blank) sits in a draft you can check rather than on a listing buyers can see.

Open the draft on the marketplace, fix anything that looks wrong and publish it. You can also publish drafts from My Listings with Post.

The original and the copy aren’t linked

Crosslisting doesn’t link the original and its copy, so the source listing stays under the Unlinked filter afterwards. Check before you crosslist the same item twice.

To pair them, publish the copy, save both listings to the cloud, then link them in the Linking tab, or select both in My Listings and click Link. Linked pairs are what the Restocker works from. Cloud saving and the Linking tab are part of the Pro and Business plans.

Crosslisting to and from eBay

Once your eBay account is connected in Settings → Marketplace accounts, eBay appears in the crosslister’s From and To pickers. You can crosslist from Depop or Vinted to eBay, and from eBay to Depop or Vinted.

To eBay. SaleLinx picks the eBay category from the title and the source category, fills in the item specifics eBay asks for (brand, colour, size, department and more), and uploads the photos.

  • eBay listings go live straight away. eBay has no drafts.
  • You see eBay’s fees first. The review step checks every item with eBay before anything is posted, and shows the fee and anything eBay would refuse. A row eBay would refuse has a Fill in button so you can add what’s missing.
  • Postage comes from SaleLinx or your eBay account. SaleLinx uses the postage you saved in SaleLinx if there is one, otherwise the business policies on your eBay listings, otherwise the postage your eBay listings all share. If there’s nothing to go on, the Crosslist tab asks once for your postage, returns and item postcode. You can change it later under Postage on the eBay row in Settings → Marketplace accounts.

From eBay. Pick eBay in From and Depop or Vinted in To. SaleLinx reads the eBay listing’s category, condition, item specifics, description and photos and maps them across, just like a Depop or Vinted source.

Plan and access

Crosslisting is included on every plan from the 14-day free trial up. Each plan has its own monthly crosslist allowance; see pricing for the current numbers. Crosslists to and from eBay count against it like any other.

To create listings from a spreadsheet instead, see CSV import.

Troubleshooting

“Open every marketplace you crosslist between.” Use the button to open the missing site, or open it yourself. Make sure each tab is signed in to the account you linked to SaleLinx.

“Both Depop and Vinted accounts must be linked before crosslisting.” (or the same message naming eBay) Link the missing account first, or switch off a marketplace you don’t sell on in Settings → Marketplaces. See Connect your first marketplace.

eBay refuses an item. The review step shows what eBay needs, usually a required item specific such as size or department. Click Fill in, add it, and the item can be posted.

“eBay is busy right now.” eBay is temporarily turning requests away. Try again later; nothing has been posted or charged.

The brand is “Other” or missing. The source brand isn’t on the target marketplace’s brand list. Pick a brand on the draft before publishing, or set it in the review step next time.

The category looks off. SaleLinx’s matching covers common items well, but unusual ones can land in the wrong place. Watch for the category warning in the review step, and pick the right category on the draft before publishing.

Photos are missing. A photo that couldn’t be copied is skipped. Add it on the draft, or delete the draft and crosslist the item again.

The price is wrong. Your shops use different currencies and no exchange rate could be fetched, so the number was kept as it was. Correct the price on the draft.

A Vinted listing won’t fetch. For a listing that isn’t in your synced shop, SaleLinx reads the listing’s public page, and if that fails it opens the listing briefly in a background tab. A listing that has been deleted or has sold can’t be fetched. Check the link, click Refresh listings and try again.
