Linking
The Linking tab pairs a Depop listing with its Vinted counterpart so the rest of SaleLinx knows they’re the same physical item. Once two listings are linked:
- The Restocker keeps their stock in step and takes the other side down when the item sells out.
- My Listings shows the pair as one row with both marketplace logos, and the Linked filter finds them.
- The Restocker tab’s Linked / Unlinked filter recognises them as a pair.
Crosslisting doesn’t link the original and the new copy for you. After a Crosslist, pair the two listings here (or from My Listings). The same goes for items you listed on both marketplaces yourself, and for pairs whose link was removed.
What you need
- Both listings saved to the cloud. The link is stored on the cloud copies, so a listing that isn’t saved can’t be linked. The tab’s Save to cloud button helps with this (see below), and Cloud sync explains the rest.
- A Depop tab and a Vinted tab open. Each column fills in from a fresh read of that marketplace. If one isn’t open, or its session has expired, the column shows a short note with a link to open it instead of the listings.
- Active, sold and draft listings can all be linked here. A sold item stays linkable because the Restocker still needs the pair.
Reading the tab
Along the top:
- Include sold - on by default. Turn it off to show only active listings (it hides drafts too).
- Save to cloud - appears with a count when listings on screen aren’t saved to the cloud yet.
- Recommended links - suggests pairs to link in one go.
- Refresh - re-reads both marketplaces.
Below that are two columns. The left one is the marketplace you’re browsing, the right one is the other marketplace. Each lists the cloud-saved listings that aren’t linked yet, with a search box and a count. A card shows the photo, title and price, plus a Sold or Draft badge where that applies.
At the bottom, Already linked is a collapsed section listing your existing pairs, each with an Unlink button. Click the arrow to open it.
A dismissible What is linking? card sits at the top on your first visit.
Saving listings to the cloud from here
Click Save to cloud to open Save listings to cloud. It lists the listings on screen that still need a cloud save, in two groups:
- Active - ticked by default.
- Sold - unticked by default, because saving them uses cloud storage. Drafts appear in this group too.
Tick what you want and press the save button, which shows how many listings it will save. Each card shows Saving… until its save finishes, then it can be linked.
Pairing manually
- Click a card in either column. The other column re-sorts by match score and puts a percentage badge on each card: green for likely matches, amber for maybes, grey for weak ones.
- Click the matching listing in the other column. The Link these listings? dialog shows both photos, titles and prices with the match score between them.
- Click Link. The pair leaves the columns and moves to Already linked.
Click a selected card again to deselect it.
The match score
The match score runs from 0 to 100 and is based on how similar the two titles are, with a small boost when the prices are close. SaleLinx lowercases both titles, strips punctuation and accents, and ignores common filler words such as “the”, “size”, “vintage”, “new” and “y2k” before comparing, so cosmetic differences don’t throw it off.
- 80 to 100: green badge, a confident match.
- 50 to 79: amber badge, worth a look.
- Below 50: grey badge, probably unrelated.
The match isn’t perfect. Treat a green badge as a strong suggestion you should still check, not as proof.
Recommended links
Click Recommended links to open Review matches to link. It lists every pair scoring 80 or more, best first, with each listing used only once. Each row shows both photos, titles, prices and marketplaces.
Pairs you can link are ticked. A pair where one listing isn’t saved to the cloud is greyed out with a Needs cloud save tag and can’t be ticked. Untick any pair you don’t want (or use Select all), then press the link button, which shows how many pairs it will link. If nothing scores high enough you’ll see No recommended matches found.
Recommendations only consider listings the columns are showing, so with Include sold off, sold listings and drafts are left out.
Refresh
Refresh re-reads your listings on Depop and Vinted at the same time, then reloads the columns. Use it after you’ve added new listings on either side. The button shows Refreshing… while it runs.
Linking from My Listings
You can also link without opening this tab. In My Listings, select one Depop listing and one Vinted listing and click Link in the toolbar. With a linked row selected, the same button reads Unlink. See Bulk editor for the rest of the toolbar.
From My Listings, both listings must be saved to the cloud (and finished saving), not already linked, and active or sold. Drafts can’t be linked from there. If both are tracked by the Restocker with different restock counts, SaleLinx asks which count to use for the pair.
Unlinking
In Already linked, click Unlink on the pair. The link is removed on both sides without touching the listings themselves, and the two listings go back into the columns. If either one was tracked by the Restocker, both stay tracked, each with the higher of the two restock counts.
Removing either listing from the cloud also removes its link.
Plan and access
Linking is included on Pro and Business. The free trial and Starter see the tab locked, with a prompt to upgrade.
Cloud sync, which linking needs, is also Pro and Business, so the gates line up. The Restocker, the main user of linked pairs, is Business only.
Next steps
- Cloud sync - the prerequisite for any linking.
- Crosslist - create the copy on the other marketplace, then link the two here.
- Restocker - the main user of linked pairs.
