Refresh

The Refresh tab re-saves your Depop listings without changing them. Each re-saved listing moves back to the top of your shop and gets a fresh “last edited” time, which bumps it in Depop search. Buyers see the same price, the same photos and the same words.

The tab has two parts:

  • Auto-Refresh - refreshes your shop on a schedule, every 4 to 24 hours, even with the panel closed. Pro and Business only.
  • Manual refresh - tick the listings you want and click Refresh, or use Refresh All. On every plan, within a daily allowance.

Refresh is Depop only. It works from any page, as long as a Depop tab is open somewhere in Chrome.

When to use it

  • You list infrequently and your shop has slipped down the feed.
  • A handful of items have gone quiet but you don’t want to recreate them from scratch.

If a listing has been live for weeks and still has near-zero views, a refresh probably won’t save it. Try Price Drops or Relist instead. To put your shop in a different order, use Shop Designer, which works by re-saving listings in the order you choose.

How a refresh works

For each listing, SaleLinx opens the listing’s edit details on Depop and, a few seconds later, saves them straight back. Nothing visible changes (unless you turn on the price nudge, below), but Depop records the listing as edited.

Your shop order is kept

Re-saving a listing moves it to the top of your shop, so refreshing from the top down would turn your shop upside down. SaleLinx works from the bottom up instead: the lowest listing is refreshed first and the top one last, so it ends up on top again.

  • Refresh All reads your whole shop first (leaving out sold items), then works from the bottom up.
  • Refresh puts the listings you ticked into shop order and does the same.

When a run covers your whole shop, it looks the same afterwards. When it covers only part of it (because of the per-run cap, your daily allowance or the skip setting), the listings it refreshed end up above the ones it didn’t, in the same order among themselves.

Nudge the price by 0.01

Nudge the price by 0.01 each time, in Refresh settings, changes each listing’s price by 0.01 in your shop currency on every refresh: down one time, back up the next. Depop then sees a real edit rather than an unchanged save. It’s off by default; with it off, the listing is saved back exactly as it was. Auto-Refresh uses this setting too.

Running it manually

From the Refresh tab:

  1. Wait for your listings to load. They’re sorted stale-first: the listing that has gone longest without being re-saved is at the top.
  2. Tick the listings you want and click Refresh, or click Refresh All.
  3. Confirm. SaleLinx asks before it starts and tells you how many listings it’s about to touch, so a mis-click on Refresh All doesn’t commit your whole shop to a long run.
  4. Watch the progress bar. The × at the end of the bar cancels the run.

Each row shows when the listing was last re-saved (“Refreshed 2 days ago”), in green when it’s recent, orange from 3 days and red after a week. This counts any save of the listing, including edits you make on Depop. Listings on sale show the original price struck through next to the sale price.

Refresh All is greyed out when there’s nothing for it to do: no listings have loaded yet (use the reload button next to the search box), or every listing was refreshed within your skip window.

You can close the panel while a run is going. It carries on in the background as long as Chrome and a Depop tab stay open. If Chrome or the extension restarts mid-run, the job is paused: press Resume in the job queue and it carries on from where it stopped.

Refresh settings

Refresh settings, the section under Auto-Refresh, holds:

  • Max listings per Refresh All - Refresh All stops after this many. Default 100. Refresh always does exactly the listings you ticked.
  • Skip listings refreshed in the last (days) - Refresh All and Auto-Refresh leave out anything re-saved more recently than this. 0, the default, refreshes everything. Listings you tick are always refreshed.
  • Seconds between listings - how long to wait after each listing, on average. Default 7, minimum 5. The first few listings and the later ones in a long run get a little extra, and long runs take the odd longer break (the job queue shows On break), so a big run can sit idle for several minutes partway through.
  • Nudge the price by 0.01 each time - see above.

Auto-Refresh uses all of these except Max listings per Refresh All.

Presets

The preset picker at the top of Refresh settings saves these as a named set. Picking a preset fills in all four at once. Two are built in:

  • Default - 100 listings per run, 7 seconds between listings, skip off, price nudge off.
  • Careful - 50 listings per run, 15 seconds between listings. Slower, and does less per run.

Change any setting by hand and the picker marks the current values as unsaved; from there you can save them as a preset of your own. Saving under the name of one of your existing presets asks before overwriting it, and the built-in names can’t be reused. Your own presets can be deleted after a confirmation; the built-ins can’t.

Your saved presets are stored with your SaleLinx account, so they survive a reinstall and follow you to another computer. See Account and subscription for how syncing, sign-out and per-device selection work.

Auto-Refresh on a schedule

The Auto-Refresh section at the top of the Refresh tab runs Refresh All for you on a schedule. On plans without it, the section shows a lock.

Setup

  1. Turn on the Auto-Refresh toggle.
  2. Pick an interval in Refresh every: 4h, 6h, 8h (the default), 12h or 24h.

The first run happens one interval after you turn it on. To run one straight away, click Start now.

The status rows show:

  • Last run - how long ago the last Auto-Refresh run finished, and how many listings it refreshed out of how many it tried.
  • Next run - a countdown to the next one.

The next run is always timed from when the previous one finished, so a run started with Start now resets the countdown. Changing the interval while Auto-Refresh is on restarts the countdown from now.

While a scheduled run is going, Start now becomes Cancel auto-refresh. Cancelling the run (there or from the job queue) also turns Auto-Refresh off, so switch it back on when you want the schedule again.

What each scheduled run does

Each run refreshes up to 200 listings, bottom-up like Refresh All, and fewer if your daily allowance has less left. Your skip setting, seconds between listings and price nudge all apply. Because every run starts from the bottom of your shop, a shop too big for one run is covered over several: the next run starts with the listings the last one didn’t reach.

Scheduled runs only happen while Chrome is open. Each one needs a Depop tab open and signed in to the Depop account linked in SaleLinx. If another SaleLinx job is running, or no Depop tab is open, Auto-Refresh tries again every 5 minutes, up to 3 times, then waits for the next scheduled run. If you’re signed in to a different Depop account, the run is skipped until the next scheduled time.

Picking an interval

  • 4h - aggressive. Best for large shops with the daily allowance to support it.
  • 8h (default) - sensible for most shops: about three runs a day.
  • 12h / 24h - light maintenance for shops where listings rarely change.

Scheduled runs use the same daily allowance as manual refreshes, so pick an interval that fits inside it.

Pacing and safety

Manual and scheduled runs go through SaleLinx’s pacing, so the run looks like normal editing rather than a burst. If Depop starts refusing requests, the run backs off and retries a few times; if it keeps happening, the run stops. If Depop denies access outright, the run stops immediately, and you should sign out of Depop and back in before trying again.

There’s no time limit on a run. It carries on until it has done the listings it set out to do, or you stop it.

If Depop won’t save a particular listing, that listing is left exactly as it was and the run moves on. This usually means its category or size needs re-selecting on depop.com.

Daily allowance

Each successful refresh counts against your daily refresh allowance. Manual refreshes and Auto-Refresh share it. It varies by plan (see pricing) and resets at midnight UTC. If a run asks for more than you have left, it’s cut to what’s left. The Membership card in the Settings tab shows what you have left today; see Settings.

Applying a layout in Shop Designer doesn’t use this allowance.

Manual refresh is on every plan, including the free trial. Auto-Refresh is Pro and Business only.

Next steps

  • Shop Designer - put your shop in any order you like.
  • Relist - the heavier alternative for genuinely dead listings.
  • Price Drops - move stale items down in price on a schedule.
  • Dead Stock - find which listings refresh alone won’t save.
