How to relist on Vinted, and when it is worth it
By the SaleLinx team ·
Vinted has no relist button. When sellers talk about relisting, they mean uploading an item again as a new listing and deleting the old one, so it gets a fresh upload date and shows up as new stock. It works because Vinted gives new listings a lift. It is also something Vinted’s terms limit, so the honest answer is: do it by hand, do it rarely, and only for items that have genuinely gone quiet.
Relist one item at a time, once, after it has sat for weeks with few views. Vinted’s terms say you must not delete and re-list the same item multiple times, or multiple items in bulk. For an item that is still getting views, a price drop, better photos or a Bump will usually do more than a fresh listing.
What relisting on Vinted actually means
Three different things get called relisting, and only one of them gives you a new upload date.
- Editing the listing. Changing the photos, title or price keeps the same listing and the same likes. Vinted’s help centre says nothing about an edit changing where the item ranks, and sellers do not report a lift from it.
- Unhiding or unreserving. Vinted lets you hide a listing and bring it back later. It is the same listing, so it does not count as new.
- Deleting and uploading again. The old listing goes, a new one with a new link takes its place. This is the only version that resets the upload date, and the one the rest of this guide is about.

What Vinted’s rules say
Read this part before you relist anything. Vinted’s terms and conditions, checked on 30 October 2026, say members must not “delete and re-list the same Item multiple times or multiple Items in bulk”. The same section bans external software tools such as bots unless Vinted has allowed them. A new version of the terms applied from 8 October 2026, so check the current text if you are reading this later.
Two more pages matter:
- The catalogue rules say “You should only have one listing per item.” Upload the new copy and then delete the old one, never both live at once.
- The help page on hidden or removed listings lists “listed multiple times and is a duplicate” as a reason for removal, and says repeat breaches of the catalogue rules can lead to a temporary or permanent ban.
So a single relist of a stale item, done by hand, is the ordinary seller behaviour Vinted expects. Relisting the same item every week, or clearing out and re-uploading your whole wardrobe, is the behaviour the terms name.
Why a fresh listing gets more views
Vinted’s page on recommended content lists “time since item upload” as one of the signals its ranking uses, and says it promotes “some segments of content, such as new listings”. It does not say how long that window lasts. Our guide to the best time to post on Vinted goes through what is known about it.
That is the whole mechanism. A relisted item is not special; it is simply new again. It gets the same window every new upload gets, then settles back to wherever its photos, price and likes put it.
How to relist an item by hand
- Open the old listing and save what you need. Download the photos, and copy the title, description, size, brand and price. Vinted keeps deleted listing data for up to 6 months, but you cannot get the photos back from it.
- Decide what to change. If the item got no interest first time round, repeating it exactly is a waste of the fresh window. Retake the first photo in better light, tighten the title to brand, item, colour and size, and look at what the same item has actually sold for.
- Upload the new listing. List it in the evening if you can, when the most buyers are scrolling.
- Delete the old listing straight away. Open it, choose Delete, and confirm. Leaving both up is a duplicate.
- Note the date. If the new copy also sits for weeks, the problem is the item or the price, not the listing date. Do not relist it again.
Expect to lose the likes on the old listing. They do not carry over, and anyone who liked it gets no notification about the new one. If an item has plenty of likes, send those likers an offer before you consider relisting.
When relisting is worth it
| What you see | Likely cause | Best move |
|---|---|---|
| Listed under 2 weeks, few views | Still in its first window | Wait. Check the title and first photo. |
| Listed 4 weeks or more, views have stopped | Buried below newer stock | Relist once, with a better first photo and a checked price. |
| Views but no likes | Photos or price put people off | Edit the photos and price. A relist with the same photos will not help. |
| Likes but no sale | Price slightly too high | Send the likers an offer, or drop the price. Do not relist, you lose the likes. |
| Out of season | Nobody is looking yet | Hide it and relist at the start of the season. |
| Already relisted once, still quiet | The item itself | Lower the price, bundle it, or move it to another marketplace. |
A relist costs you the likes, the watchers and a few minutes of work. It pays off when the only thing wrong with a listing is its age. When something else is wrong, fix that first.
What Vinted offers instead
Vinted sells two ways to get an old listing seen without deleting it. Both are priced at checkout, and both are listed on Vinted’s price list.
- Bump. A Bump shows the item higher in the newsfeed and search for 3 or 7 days, or until it sells. The fee depends on the item’s price and the length you pick.
- Showcase. Showcase promotes up to 15 of your listings for 7 days to members likely to buy from you. You need at least 5 items listed, and the price depends on how many listings you have and what they are worth.
Then there are the free moves: a price drop, an offer to likers, or a better first photo. On an item with likes, a 10% drop or an offer usually beats a Bump, because the people who already want it are the ones who see it.
How SaleLinx helps
SaleLinx is a Chrome extension for Depop, Vinted and eBay sellers. Its Dead Stock tab scores every live Depop and Vinted listing by age, views and likes, so you can see which items have genuinely gone quiet before you touch anything. The relist tool then does the steps above for you: it posts the new copy first, with small photo and title changes, and only deletes the original once the new one is live, or saves the copy as a draft for you to check. Depop has no rule against relisting, so there it is routine. On Vinted, use it the way you would relist by hand: the odd single item, once. Vinted’s terms restrict external software tools, so keep Vinted activity to what a person would do by hand. For stale items with likes, scheduled price drops handle the price side without a relist. From £7.99 a month, with a 14-day free trial.
Questions
Is relisting allowed on Vinted?
Vinted’s terms do not ban a single relist. They ban deleting and re-listing the same item multiple times, and deleting and re-listing multiple items in bulk. Keep it to one item at a time, and do not keep relisting the same item.
How often can I relist the same item on Vinted?
Vinted gives no number. The terms say “multiple times” is the problem, so treat a second relist of the same item as the line. If one relist with better photos and a checked price did not sell it, change the price or move on.
Does editing a listing bump it on Vinted?
Vinted has not said that it does, and sellers do not report a lift from an edit alone. An edit is still worth doing when the photos or title are the problem, because those affect whether people click, which Vinted does rank on.
Do I lose my likes if I relist?
Yes. The new listing starts from zero likes and nobody who liked the old one is told about it. If the item has likes, send them an offer before you relist.
Is it better to relist or to Bump?
Bump if the item is getting likes and just needs more eyes. Relist if it has gone completely quiet and you are going to improve the photos or price at the same time. Neither will sell an item that is priced above what it goes for.
