Best time to post on Vinted in the UK (2026)
By the SaleLinx team · · Updated
Search "best time to post on Vinted" and you will find confident answers: Sunday night, 7pm sharp, lunchtime on a Tuesday. Very few of them say where the number came from. This guide sorts what Vinted has actually said from what is just received wisdom, then turns it into a routine you can stick to.
List in the evening, roughly 7pm to 10pm, and save your best pieces for Sunday evening or the days around payday. That is the consensus advice, and the only timing figure Vinted has published points the same way. But nobody outside Vinted has published hour-by-hour UK data, so treat timing as a tiebreaker. Photos, price and a clear title still do most of the work.
Why the time you post matters at all
Timing only matters if Vinted shows new listings to more people, and it does. Vinted’s own explanation of its recommended content lists “time since item upload” as one of the things it uses to rank items, and says it promotes some types of content, “such as new listings”, alongside paid promotions like Bumps and Showcase.
So a new listing gets a window where it is easier to find. Vinted does not say how long that window lasts or how big the boost is. The logic behind the timing advice is simple: if your item’s freshest hours happen while lots of buyers are scrolling, more of them see it.
What the evidence actually says
Here is everything we could find with a source behind it, from strongest to weakest.
- Vinted: activity peaks around 9pm. Vinted’s review of 2022 said people are particularly active on the app in the evening, around 9pm (reported by NSS Magazine). It is a few years old and covers Vinted as a whole, not the UK specifically, but it is the only hour-of-day figure Vinted has made public.
- Vinted: the first Sunday in January is the busiest listing day. Vinted named Sunday 4 January 2026 “Sell-It Sunday” and said new listings on the first Sunday of the year run at about three times the normal daily rate (ChannelX). Note that this counts sellers listing, not buyers browsing. More listings also means more competition.
- Consumer and shipping experts: evenings, weekends and payday. Which? suggests listing around payday and at weekends (Which?, January 2026). Parcel2Go recommends evenings after 7pm, and listing higher-value items close to payday (Parcel2Go). Neither cites data, but the advice is consistent and fits Vinted’s 9pm figure.
- Sellers on forums: all over the place. You will find sellers swearing by 7am, lunchtimes and Sunday nights. Shops differ, and one seller’s results are hard to separate from luck.
Any article that gives you an exact minute without showing data is guessing.
A posting routine that works
Put together, the evidence supports a routine like this:
- List in the evening. Aim for roughly 7pm to 10pm on weekdays, when people are home and scrolling. If you can only list at one time of day, make it this one.
- Save your best items for Sunday evening. Sunday evening is the most repeated piece of advice, and it lines up with the evening peak.
- Time pricier pieces for payday. Many people in the UK are paid on the last working day of the month, so the few days after it are a sensible time to list items above your usual price point.
- Spread new listings across the week. If new listings get a boost, ten items added over five evenings each get their own fresh window, while ten added in one go compete with each other for the same one.
- List seasonal stock ahead of the season. Coats in early autumn, festival wear in spring. Buyers tend to start looking before the weather turns.
- Expect a crowded first Sunday in January. Lots of sellers list on Sell-It Sunday. If you have a strong piece, list it the week before or after rather than into the busiest day of the year.
Then keep an eye on your own numbers. Your views and favourites in the first day or two tell you more about your buyers than any general guide can.
Timing will not rescue a weak listing
Recency is only one of the things Vinted ranks on. Its help page also names item attractiveness, such as the number of interactions, price and condition. Before you worry about the hour, check the basics:
- Photos. Good light, a plain background, the whole item in the first photo, then close-ups of labels, fabric and any flaws.
- Title. Brand, item type, colour and size, in the words a buyer would type into search.
- Price. Look at what the same item has actually sold for, not what it is listed at.
- Replies. Answer questions and offers quickly. A buyer who waits often buys something else.
Should you delete and re-upload old listings?
It is tempting: if new listings get a boost, why not delete a stale one and upload it again? Because Vinted’s rules say not to.
- Vinted’s terms say members must not “delete and re-list the same Item multiple times or multiple Items in bulk”.
- Its catalogue rules say you should only have one listing per item, and its help centre says a listing can be removed as a duplicate.
Vinted’s terms changed on 8 October 2026, so check the current version before you rely on anything here.
The options Vinted does offer for an item that has gone quiet:
- Lower the price. A small drop is often all a watcher needs.
- Bump it. A Bump is a paid feature that shows the item higher in the newsfeed and search for 3 or 7 days, or until it sells. The price depends on the item and is shown before you pay.
- Use Showcase. Showcase (it used to be called Wardrobe Spotlight) is a paid 7-day promotion for up to 15 of your listings. You need at least 5 items listed to use it.
- Freshen the listing. Better photos or a clearer title can help it show up in more searches.
If you sell on Depop too
On Depop you do not need to delete anything to get a lift. Editing and re-saving a listing moves it back to the top of your shop and gives it a fresh “last edited” time, which helps in search. SaleLinx’s Depop refresh tool does that for your whole shop and keeps your shop in the order you arranged. The same “list in the evening” routine is a sensible starting point there too.
Questions
What is the best day to post on Vinted?
Sunday, in the evening, is the most common answer, and the advice from Which? adds weekends and payday. There is no published UK data that settles it, so compare your own views and favourites across a few weeks.
Does Vinted show the newest items first?
Not strictly. Vinted ranks items using several signals, including how recently they were uploaded, how people have interacted with them, price and condition, and the buyer’s own browsing. Newer listings get a lift, but the feed is not a simple newest-first list.
Is it worth paying to bump an item on Vinted?
It depends on the item. Vinted prices a Bump by the item’s price and how long it runs, so it makes most sense for pieces with a healthy margin and good photos that just need to be seen. If an item has had plenty of views but no sales, the price or photos are usually the problem, and a Bump will not fix that.
Does Vinted charge sellers a fee?
No. Vinted says there are no fees for selling. Buyers pay a separate fee at checkout, which Vinted renamed from the Buyer Protection fee to the “Vinted fee” in October 2026. Vinted’s price list has the current rates.
